Glastonbury Tor was an interesting experience. The climb up was quite steep in places, although the track was concreted the whole way. From the top, you had a 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside, although it was very windy once away from the tower. The tower itself is fairly nondescript. It is a simple rectangular tower in a gothic style with some bench seats inside.
To make it worth the climb, it is necessary to have read some of the background and legends about the Tor. If you hadn’t read these, then it was little more than a nice view, and for some, it would not be worth the effort, particularly on overcast, windy days.
